New Name, Same Mission...

To avoid conflicts and confusion with the new Star Trek movie, I've changed the name of my concept from "Star Trek Beyond" to "Star Trek Uncharted". The concept is still the same - the same crew, the same premise and the same goals. Only the name (and web address!) has changed. I see it as a hopeful, forward looking title, just like "Star Trek Beyond", one that hints at both the premise of the show and at the idea of Star Trek venturing into previously unexplored territory in terms of science fiction, social issues and thematic content.

Please set this in the prime universe but years in the future after Nemesis. There can still be a JJ-Verse influence with Romulus being destroyed but it would make sense to set this in the 25th/26th Century.

My reasons are that generally I feel that the majority of fans would prefer Trek to continue on TV in the prime universe and secondly, one of your characters is a Romulan - surely this would make more sense if it was in the 25th/26th Century in the Prime Universe? Another small thing would be that it would make the introduction of your new technology a lot easier and sort of make sense after Voyager and Star Trek Online...

Another suggestion is that this crew are not only looking for Strange New Worlds etc. But how about the concept (which mirrors our own in the present) that Dilithium (fuel) is running out, in the next 20/30 years. A bloated, stetched and declining Federation would surely want to strectch its legs once more to save humanity etc by reaching out further (lets say to Andromeda) in search of a new source of fuel?

Just some suggestions. Overall, I really like this concept, and wish you all the best (as I am sure the rest of the fans do) with your pitch to Paramount.

Another small nit picky thing - sorry! I don't mean to troll or whatever the term is! But I notice that your Captain is from Elysia IV?

Elysia already exists in Star Trek lore, and according to Memory Alpha:

"Elysia was a small alternate universe, a parallel time continuum, that periodically touched the prime universe in the Delta Triangle region of the galaxy. Elysia was described by Devna, as a pocket in the garment of time. The collisions between the two alternate universes produced time warp vortexes in the time barrier between the universes. The warps allowed passage from one side to the other at high warp speed."

Surely this would be difficult to explain? (If you ever needed to)

Why not make him a good old fashioned Human?

Dilithium wouldn't be a good reason, they figured out how to recrystallize it. Although if they were running out of new sources and most of it was lost in the recent wars with the Borg, Dominion, and now the Galactic War

per Wiki:

I think it is very important to find actors who work well together and the characters be interesting. I think Star Trek the next generation did this very well I think this was a down fall of enterprise. I would love to see Patrick steward to do an appearance as admiral. Or
Will Wheaton to be a commander. A new series would be great if a good story line set in the future none of this going back previously before the original series

A fresh perspective! I wish you every success. Trek has always been more of a TV thing for me. People like to rag on Berman and Braga, but they put out a combined 25 years of entertainment. Yes, Insurrection and Nemesis and the back half of Enterprise were weak, but they were out of gas. New blood! Go get it, man!

i remeber wacthing the orginal series with my dad when i was a kid,goes to show you how old i am.
i hope that you have alot of sucess in what you are trying to do,this is the 1st i have heard of this place .
i will have to come back again,as far as any ideas go, i really dont have anything except for 1 thing,the enterprise,the current movie version i dont like it at all, its too bulky to me everything is wrong about it, i know things change , but come on really?
your are right needs to be differnt some how what i have read here might work.
i have seen all the tv series except for enterprise , i have no clue about them at all
i wish you a lots of luck & good deal

I think that this is an absolutely fantastic idea. It will rekindle the fires that have been too long in the ember stage or cooler. While I can buy into the JJVerse as an alternate reality or timeline, I still like the original TV versions in all of their iterations including Enterprise. The ideas so far expounded are right in=keeping with the Roddenberry vision. What about including something involving the dark nature of the universe as part of the ongoing plot and discovery portion of the mission? Just an idea, but there is a tremendous amount of hard science looking in these areas now as well as into the areas of fusion technology as a power source here on Earth in the not too distant future. Of course, that is a ship that sailed a while ago in the Trekverse. Best of luck with the series pitch. I hope that the guns at Paramount give it some serious consideration. We need some really good sci-fi on TV that is not focused on alien invasions or paranormal business. Space operas are long overdue once again.

I agree, modern science and scientific theory need to inform the sci-fi. And too many Trek ideas base their whole premise on the idea of a great, big enemy to fight. While bad guys are interesting and space combat is cool... To me, that was never the core of Star Trek was all about.

I really liked the pilot, I can see the various races getting to the points you have them at. Can't wait to see what you did with some of the other races eg: Dominion, Borg? other new races from the Delta & Gamma Quadrants. Crew seems awesome with some cool abilities, and the new tech is sweet. It's about time that they get a nanite self repairing hull for goodness sakes! haha

The Only thing that I'm not sure about in all that I read is the size of the ship. I'm not one of those people that thinks Star Trek needs to go out and build ships bigger than the other sci-fi series, but if a ship is going out into the great unknown to a new Galaxy, no less, you shouldn't send a small ship. The Constitution class was the largest, most state of the art ship of it's time. The Galaxy Class was the same. Both could go out and explore, They could withstand punishment both from hostiles and environmental abnormalities they encountered. They were large enough that they inspired awe and could handle themselves well. I'm sure they would do the same with this mission.

eg: Voyager, tough ship did awesome, but imagine a Galaxy or Sovereign class ship dealing with the Kazon. Would they have had the gusto to try to attack?

Going to a New Galaxy where resupply appears to be very difficult and no reinforcements are possible... to follow a somewhat cryptic message. Not to mention that probes aren't receive any other messages or even life readings. Being the only ship going, I'd pick a larger ship, more supplies, Fuel (even with the replicator storage), more personnel on the ship even with the decreased staffing needs. (You're gonna loose some red shirts! With a crew of only 150 and no resupply, the security/hazard force can't be that large.) Love the hazard suits, can't wait to see them in action. Couldn't tell if they had augmented strength. if they don't, they should, we have that in the works with the military already just pending better batteries...

Also have more shuttle bays with more room for larger shuttles since you don't have storage concerns (use the space from the former cargo bays) eg: The Delta Flyer, scout ship from insurrection, possibly a fighter or two left over from the war?, Captian's Yacht, etc Free you up to explore a little more freely than with just shuttles or only the ship. Plus they make for some good plots and crew interactions.

Federation ships are like art, even the large heavily armored ones look more majestic than menacing. No need to pick a smaller ship for that reason. Deep down I do like the TOS throwback to the design of the ship, but the long narrow neck always made me cringe a little. If I were picking the best place to target to disable it...

The Last thing is the letter, in the pilot it is - A, Might as well make it F or G Right? continue the legacy!

Have some newer ideas about the ship that I will work into the 5th draft of the pilot and the series bible (and website). Some very cool new stuff, some of it touching on similar areas to the ideas you mention, I think you will like it. Working with concept artists to get original concepts made before I post anything...

I am actually a 14 yr old but I love the whole concept of this new series. I have watched all the series so far (not completely) and voyager and enterprise are my favorites, the ones in the tough situations with no one for help but their wits. I may be 14 but I have already written a scifi novel which is on its way to being published so don't be quick to dismiss my ideas. Also love the white hole drive, but what happened to quantum slipstream and transwarp, ablative regenerative shield armor, multiphase phasers, transphasic torpedoes, chronodeflectors, and all the awesome stuff from the end of voyager?? It is very good and I can't wait for it to come out. This is more of an administrative problem but please can it come on Netflix?? Thank you. I would also like a chance to write, please respond on this.
P.S. When I read they were going to andromeda I immediately thought about doing a part about the kelvans and maybe an idea of a Q involvement, then I read your other pages and found the idea was already taken!! Thank You.
